The game-play rules for Galaxy Awaits: Rise of an Empire is designed to be easy to learn and use so players can focus on role-play.

Combat is a quick, low number system where every attack has a possible defense. Skills, Techniques, the Force, and Items share the same pool of effects allowing characters plenty of access options. The In-Game economy is supported by the rules; every effect use has a cost that ties into the flow of credits.

All characters begin with the same number of point pools that can be increased to a fixed cap with removable In-Game Items. There are no character levels. New characters have equal chances in combat as current characters.
