The Force is an energy that resides in all living things. Those who can sense it are called Force-sensitives and they can use the Force to perform amazing feats.
Throughout the history of the galaxy, philosophies on the nature of the Force have been debated and even warred over. As such, Force practitioners have adhered to either the Light Side or the Dark Side (concepts such as Grey Jedi do not exist). There is a balance of the Force, and both the Light and Dark sides believe they are maintaining that balance through their actions.
Currently, the Dark Side reigns over the galaxy under the rule of the Empire and the Sith Lord, Darth Vader. The Light Side is the enemy, specifically the fallen Jedi Order. Any Jedi survivors of the purge are in hiding and on the run. Other Force-sensitives found by the Empire are turned to the Dark Side or otherwise dealt with within the rules of GALAXY AWAITS.
These Force Traditions existed during the Empire era of our game. If a Tradition is not included here, then it cannot be chosen for your Character and/or portrayed in game.

Not a tradition per se, the Inquisitorius is a group of Force-users trained by the Empire to hunt Jedi. Individuals, called Inquisitors, were once Jedi themselves, but turned to the Dark Side either willingly or by torture. The number of Inquisitors is not known. Working alone or together, Inquisitors are often found where rumors of Jedi persist, or where other Force related interests take them. |

The Jedi Order was the tradition of the Republic and held authority over all things related to the Force. Many Jedi Knights and their padawans served as generals in the Clone Wars, charging head first into battle after battle. When the Galactic Empire was formed, the Republic ended and Jedi were labeled as traitors. Many Jedi were killed by clonetroopers and those who survived Order 66 now live in hiding. |

The Jal Shey were an ancient order of users who studied the Force from a purely intellectual perspective, forsaking the more spiritual paths taken by the Jedi and Sith. Jal Shey were typically more known for diplomacy, on par with the greatest Jedi negotiators, but, unlike the Jedi and Sith, they were less successful in physical pursuits, even where the Force was involved. The Jal Shey were also a nomadic group, traveling the galaxy in search of new locations to study the Force, and they were particularly selective about recruiting new members. |
